General
In light of the heartbreaking news that a toddler recently drowned locally, I thought this might be a good time to ask how everyone keeps their children safe around water. Although it's especially important with infants and toddlers, all children have a risk of drowning or near drowning and should follow safety guidelines. And it's not just the bathtub, ponds, and lakes you need to be concerned about.
Children Can Drown In Less Than 2 Inches of Water
Some places you may not expect, that can be dangers:
• the sink
• the toilet bowl
• fountains
• buckets
• deep puddles
• inflatable pools
• pet's water bowls
• small areas of water (such as ditches)
In addition to following safety guidelines, it's always a good idea to know CPR - just in case.
